UNWRAPPING BEEF & LAMB THIS CHRISTMAS

This year, we wanted to find 10 deserving Kiwis and make their Christmas Day that little bit more special. We asked our readers of mEAT Magazine and our followers on social media to nominate well-deserving Kiwis to receive a Christmas hamper with ingredients for one of our hero Christmas recipes, Summer leg of lamb or Barbecued Eye Fillet with Carrots, Eggplant & Israeli Couscous Salad

The response was incredible, we were inundated with stories of Kiwis doing amazing things for their families, their communities and some for complete strangers.

A big thank you to everyone that nominated someone. You sure did make the task of picking just 10 recipients a tough one. Here is a snippet of the stories of the deserving families and we have no doubt that they each of them are very deserving.

We wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

“They lost everything in the floods and had to be rescued with their eight-day-old baby and two-year-old.”

“He has worked super hard all year to provide for his family and deserves to be spoiled at Christmas.”

“This beautiful family of eight had a harrowing year of health issues but still managed to contribute strongly to the local community even when they were struggling.”

“My aunty, who is retired, truly deserves this. She now has two single mothers living with her with two children each. This would be one less worry for her being so close to Christmas.”

“Dad works two jobs and mum three jobs on top of raising their four beautiful children. They have both worked in the community for many years, constantly giving to others and now it’s their time.”

“Christine is my chief sewer for Huggable Hearts, she spends hours and hours helping out and is a vital part of keeping us going.”

“She’s our mum #superhero and #1supporter – most of all we love her.”

“Bernie is a widow who works very long hours at Living Options, a highly respected resource in our town that supports people with disabilities.”

“My sister and her five kids had to move in with me and my kids. I would love to win this for her to try and cheer her up. It’s been a hard year.”

“She is a foster mother of five children, the four-year-old Angel has had three surgeries to reshape her skull.”
